Overview of Symbol Pad

Symbol Pad is one of the input methods available on your device, which can be accessed through the Input Panel. Symbol Pad provides a comprehensive list of common symbols, such as punctuation mark, parentheses, braces, currency signs, special characters, and more. You can use the Navigation Control to navigate through the available symbols on-screen, and then press ENTER to select a symbol. Symbol Pad is represented by Symbol Pad Icon.

Use Symbol Pad

To insert a symbol into a document for instance using Symbol Pad, do the following:

  1. Create or open a document, such as a Word document.
  2. Open Symbol Pad by tapping the Input Selector arrow and then tap Symbol Pad.
  3. To browse through the pages of symbols, tap Symbol Pad PageUp Button or Symbol Pad PageDown Button on the Symbol Pad screen.
  4. Tap a symbol to select it and close Symbol Pad. The selected symbol automatically gets inserted into your document.

Notes

You can also tap Symbol Pad Escape Button on the Symbol Pad screen to close Symbol Pad. For more information on how to use Symbol Pad, refer to your product's User Manual.
