Explore files and folders

File Explorer lets you browse the contents of folders on your phone. The root folder on the phone is named My Device. My Device is similar to My Computer on the computer and contains the My Documents, Program Files, Temp, Storage Card, and Windows folders, among others.

  1. Tap Start > File Explorer.
  2. Tap the folder list (labeled My Documents by default) and tap the folder you want to explore.

To find the folder you want, you may need to tap a folder from the folder list, or one listed in the main window.

  3. To open an item, tap it. To delete, rename, or copy an item quickly, tap and hold the item. To select multiple items, tap and drag. Then, tap and hold the selected items, and tap a command.

Tip

The contents of a folder can be sorted by name, date, size, or type by tapping the Sort by list (labeled Name by default).
